Do you offer free site visits and consultations?
Yes — Violux provides free on-site consultations across the UK. Our specialists visit your property, take measurements, assess sunlight and wind exposure, and recommend the most suitable bioclimatic or retractable system for your needs.
Can pergolas be freestanding or wall-mounted?
Both options are available. Violux pergolas can be freestanding in gardens or wall-mounted to properties, engineered for durability and weather resistance in either setup.
What is the difference between a rotatable and a retractable bioclimatic pergola?
A rotatable pergola features motorised blades that tilt up to 110 degrees for precise light, ventilation, and full rain protection.
A retractable pergola uses a sliding roof that opens two-thirds (2/3) for an open-sky experience. Both can integrate LED lighting, blinds, and heating systems.
Can I use a barbecue or outdoor kitchen under my pergola?
Yes, with proper ventilation. Keep open flames at least 1 metre away from blinds or walls, and partially open the louvers to allow smoke to escape. Violux pergolas are also ideal for covering outdoor kitchens or hot-tub areas, creating a versatile all-weather living space.
Are Violux pergolas wind and snow resistant?
Our powder-coated aluminium frames are designed to withstand strong winds and seasonal snow loads, making them suitable for the British climate. Optional glass walls and zip screens enhance comfort throughout the year.
Are louvred roof pergolas waterproof?
When fully closed, the interlocking aluminium blades form a watertight seal, draining rainwater through hidden internal gutters built into the columns. Our systems comply with European Standard NBN 306. Regular gutter cleaning ensures long-term performance.
